This great king coming in such a humble way to establish a Kingdom that will never end was contrary to the Jewish belief. They believed that a warrior was coming to establish military dominance. The idea that God would send His Son in the most unlikely of ways, through the birth canal of one of his created beings to live among us and our mess. Jesus took this way everyone thought and turned it on its head. They didn’t see how a kingdom could be built on LOVE and PEACE. They thought it could only be done with power.
