The BackBlast:
As it was simply too cold to be outside last week, we postponed the Annual Christmas Coquito Beatdown to today.
The beat down was a redux of the Hands and Feet theme I brought to Steel Town 2 weeks back. As the Christmas season draws to a close, the Meaning of Christmas remains for me in 3 words: He became flesh… Was he born knowing how to hold a spoon, or walk, or swing a hammer? Before time began He was eternally part of the Triune God. Then in an instant, he became a life earthbound, and 9 months later he was born with tiny little baby feet. Probably the 2 most under-rated sentences of all time are from Luke 2:6: ‘While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them’. 33 years later he still had them but in much different condition per Luke 24:39 ESV: ‘See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.’ That was a long, hard road for the son of God. This morning, we will take part in the CTHT Beatdown with our own Hands and Feet.
