7 PAX showed up in the increasingly dark gloom of the autumn morning. YHC decided to scrap an intended Indian Run so, like moths, we could stay around the light of the pavilion; don’t think it made much difference since the light soon turned off anyway…

During the warm-a-rama, shared a thought for the day: “Most people live as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death.” One of the virtues of manhood is Raw Passion. It is a lust for life that doesn’t settle for the status quo. It is an infectious enthusiasm for life.

Warm-a-Rama: Arm circles, Huggy Bears, Smurf Jacks, Robot, Abe Vigoda, Mountain Climbers, Peter Parkers

The Thang:

· BLIMPS w/ Carioca/High Knees, etc. across parking lot between sets (5 Burpee; 10 Lunge; 15 Imperial Walker; 20 Merkin; 25 Plank Jack; 30 Squat)

· Lunge Walk to Playground

· 20 Hail Mary – Plank/Dips on bench with legs on back of a partner. Flapjack

· 20 Step ups

· 1/3 PAX: 10 Pullups (or 5 second hangs); 1/3 PAX: Inverted Rows on swings; 1/3 PAX: Bulgarian Split Squat (10/leg). Rotate until all complete each exercise

· 11s: 10 Merkins/1 Squat; sprint ~ 20 yards; 9 Merkins/2 Squat, etc.

After completing Merkin/squat set, hold a Plank or an Al Gore Position until Six before sprint to next location. Arrived back at the shovel flag.

· Circle Burp (high knees, in turn each calls “down” and all do a burpee)

· Guantanamo (on back, feet off ground; take turns go around pushing feet to ground while PAX resist). This was a favorite; at least if the groans vocalized as the circuit progressed was any indicator.

Mary: Each PAX called an exercise (American Hammer, LBC, Dolly, Freddie Mercury, Crab Cakes, and Alternating Shoulder Taps)

COT:

Announcements: Uptown Girl shared some of the plans for potential new AOs and 2nd and 3rd F events

Prayers for friends/family members dealing with significant health issues

Count-a-Rama and Name-a-Rama

We ended with a quote from C.S. Lewis: “Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us.”
