33 degrees, light breeze, clear
I had gotten word from a few of the PAX that they would not make the workout this morning so I had an inkling that I might be going solo and so it was; my first solo workout. I could be discouraged but one thing I’ve learned over the past couple years is that I have a choice as to what my attitude will be in any circumstance. I chose be grateful for the time to be alone and practice my One Word for the year — prayerful.
I decided to run seven laps around the park and spend the time in mumblechatter with my God. I figured Joshua marched around Jericho seven times so I could run seven laps around The Grill for a total of ~ 3.5 miles. I didn’t pray for the park to crumble but to see it become a place for men to develop community and brotherhood in order to be better equipped to be the men they were created to be. I also gave thanks for each of the men God brought into my life through F3 and pray for their growth and success as they navigate through life.
I also got to see a hawk catch and eat a squirrel in the park. Not sure how to spiritualize that but it was cool to witness the magnificence of God’s creation.
All in all it was a satisfying and enjoyable morning.
