The BackBlast:
Initially four PAX posted on a muggy afternoon to the Grill for a memorial Treehugger workout. Pork Chop was detained and arrived late but caught up with us in the playground.
Conditions were muggy with a threatening storm that never materialized.
Warm-a-rama: mosey to “death valley”; Arm Circles (rather, Circle Arms as Myra, our resident engineer, pointed out for accuracy), Toy Soldiers, Abe Vigoda, Lunges, Peter Parkers, Cobra/Downward Dog
Mosey to the playground
The Thang — Crossett Fit Games
Three rounds of the following:
- 10 Pull ups
- 20 V-ups
- 30 Merkins
- 40-yard Broad Jump Burpee
- ~ 100 yard run back to the playground
By the third round I was struggling (I am just getting over a nasty cold) and modified the broad-jump burpees to walking lunges. Only Myra attempted the final round of broad jump burpees but even he switched over to lunge walks part way through.
Mosey to the pavilion by the shovel flag
Dealer’s choice: Dips, Step Ups, Calf Raises, Six Inches, Flutter Kicks, Diamond Merkins, American Hammers, WWI Sit ups
COT: prayers for delivery of Pork Chop’s grandchild who is almost 2-weeks overdue, prayers for Wilson who is suffering from migraines, prayers for Picasso’s step sister who was diagnosed with breast cancer, prayers for Life Choices following an interview by the Morning Call
The tentatively planned kayak river trip will be delayed until we get some rain for the river to rise.
The Bridge Church asked for some F3 men to assist with setting up for a Convoy of Hope community outreach on August 21st.
