YHC thought it would be good to capture the hike event following the Grill’s Manniversary via this pseudo backblast.
Following breakfast at the Grill, 5 PAX along with Pocahontas’s M and Myra’s M and their mini golden doodle pup (what is the F3 term for a PAX’s dog?! there should be one!) drove to the Hamburg Reservoir and met up in the parking lot. We soon embarked on our hike up to Pulpit Rock via the Appalachian Trail. We had beautiful weather; comfortably cool with blue skies!
We enjoyed good camaraderie as we made our way up the trail and got to know each other and spouses better. Sheldon shared his research with semi conductors with Pocahontas who is currently working with a semi conductor project; Myra and his M found a dog sitter (Pocahontas’s M); and we all enjoyed making more connections with one another.
As we were leaving Pulpit Rock we passed a man with his dog. Myra recognized him, having met not long ago. We did a quick EH on him (he is a fitness buff) for F3. The interesting thing is that I don’t recall ever meeting him before but the next day I ran into him in church twice including in a small group class being led by Potsie. Sheldon was also in the class. Needless to say that sent a clear signal to this guy that he should seriously consider F3. He said he would come next Saturday. I believe he will!
We descended off the mountain by way of the road from the observatory.
Total time hiking was ~ 2 hours. It was fun doing an event with some of the M’s. We hope to do more in the future.
