HOF Log

Hall Of Fame Log (aka Lady Glittersparkles)

What is that you ask?

Here is the idea. Your attendance at F3 workouts is tracked by the posting of Back Blast. Every time you are tagged in a Back Blast your posting amount is increased by one. When you get to 50 your F3 Name is engraved on the HOF Log by YHC. That is the easy part. At or soon after your 50th workout you get to handle the Log for the duration of that workout. Sounds easy enough, right? Well …

During that workout you are responsible to ensure the Log does not touch the ground. Each time the Log touches the ground you must add 10 burpees to the total burpee count to be completed at the end of the workout. (Side note: this morning I was going to do 5 for each time it touched but after completing the task at hand without touching the ground I think 10 is more appropriate. Yes, you can hate me now.)

This morning was the first time the HOF Log was utilized in a workout and I must say Lady Glittersparkles worked very well. I did not know what to expect and if I could even complete the workout. Running with the Log was a little bit of a challenge however not a hinderance. Lady Glittersparkles added an extra challenge to exercises like Merkins though.

What we did and what you are allowed to do: pass the Log. The Q, Dr. Seuss put on a great workout as usual that was centered around the theme of carrying you neighbors burden. This fit in well with the Log and the PAX. Yes, all of the PAX should work as a team to help you accomplish the task of caring for the great Lady.

What is the purpose of this?

  1. Celebration! We, as men do not celebrate our success enough. 50 workouts is a big deal and I feel accomplished. So I celebrated, F3 style!
  2. Teamwork. The PAX helped me “celebrate” by sharing my burden. One aspect that contributes to the success of F3 is shared leadership, this is an exercise to strengthen that.
  3. Encouragement. Never would I have thought to make it this far with F3. Over a year and a half ago there was no way I would have been able to do what I did this morning. Remember, consistent usable fitness over a long period of time is the only thing that works. I want to encourage you to continue to post to the workouts and aim to get your name tattooed on Lady Glittersparkles. How many men can say their name is tatooed on a Lady?
  4. The challenge. Men need challenge in their lives. Without challenge we don’t strive and thrive. We don’t hunger. We don’t love. Meet the challenge head on.
