1776 at the Grill

Independence Day — most of the PAX were away this weekend but two true patriots posted for a sweaty workout in warm, humid conditions.

Warm-a-rama: arm circles, Abe vigoda, Grass Pickers, Best Stretch Ever, Calf Stretch

The Thang:

YHC opted to try the infamous 1776 workout – 4 rounds of 4 different exercises in 4 sets of 100 reps/yards (1600 reps/yards).  We opted to split the reps between us for 50 reps/yards each.

Round 1:

    Cardio: 100 yards high knees
    Upper body: 100 Merkins
    Lower body: 100 Squats
    Core: 100 LBC

Round 2:

    Cardio: 100 yards NUR (backward run)
    Upper body: 100 Arm Circles
    Lower body: 100 Step Ups
    Core: 100 American Hammers

Round 3:

    Cardio: 100 yards Sprint
    Upper body: 100 Overhead Claps/SSH
    Lower body: 100 Lunges
    Core: 100 Plank Jacks

Round 4:

    Cardio: 100 yards Side Shuffle
    Upper body: 100 Dips
    Lower body: 100 Mountain Climber
    Core: 100 Flutter Kicks

100-yard Bear Crawl

76 Burpees

Total of 1776 reps or yards completed between the two of us!!!

We still had ~ 15 minutes remaining so we ran on the Schuylkill River trail for ~ 1 mile or ~ 1776 yards!

A very satisfactory workout.

Four Twelve was closed so we went through the Dunkin drive through and found a shady spot in the Cabela’s parking lot to tail gate for coffeeteria.
