Rest Again

Sunny and chilly.  4 PAX posted to the Grill for another rest workout.  One of the advantages of doing workouts in both the Lehigh Valley and Hamburg is that I can recycle my weinkes on new PAX.  This workout is a modification of last Tuesday’s workout.  Ditto is nursing an Achilles injury so we adapted.  I can certainly relate as I am now (mostly) recovered from a stress fracture.  The rest theme was appropriate.

Day’s Thought: REST

Throughout the Bible we are told to rest – work 6 days and rest on the 7th, Jesus says “come onto me all you who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest”; “Be still and know that I am God”, etc.

Your body gets stronger not from the workout but from the recovery following the workout.

Rest is often neglected in our busy culture.  Build rhythms of rest into your life.  Take time to be still and “listen” to God.  Build spiritual disciples into your life in order to re-calibrate and center yourself (read Bible, prayer, stillness, solitude, spend intentional time with loved ones).

Look for and enjoy “rests” during this workout!
