On a purely selfish note, I just signed up for the Spartan race in July. Thought I’d spread some of that joy and pain at the workout this morning. After 4 of us hit the Early Bird, 10 circled up at 5:30, Disclaimer agreed to, we hit it.
Warm up: standard variety of slow calisthenics, finishing with SST. At 5:38, the last PAX posted so we went right into circle burpees to fulfill that obligation.
The Thang: with the Spartan in mind, this morning we focused on grip strength, bear crawls, burpees, and hills, with a Mosey between each.
1. 7’s at the Northern Field. Beginning with 7 burpees – Mosey 20 yards for 1 LBC, Mosey back for 6 and 2, etc.
2. Grip strength at the Pavilion. 60 second dead hang, pair up for 60 second dead lift (2 men lift a table). Pull-ups at the swi gs
3. Mountain Hike at the Pavillion – over the tables, out and back X 5
4. Back to the Shovel Flag for Bear Crawls out around a car and back
