Chilly and Rainy, but what felt like our first “fall” workout of the season brought out the best in all of us.
PAX huddled under the pavilion out of the mist. I recited the 5 core principals just incase someone decided to tare a ligament. Mosey to death valley.
Warm-a-rama: Mixture of stretching and exercises that raise the heart rate (including a 5 count motivator). To the band stand to finish our warm-up with a new one.
Ascending Testicles: The demented cousin to balls to the wall. Start with feet on wall creating a 15 degree angle and do 5 derkins. Move feet up to 45 degree angle and 5 more derkins. Up to balls to wall for a 10 count to finish. Back to the starting pavilion.
Tha Thang: 4 position escalator, moving between the pavilions of opposite ends of the park to incorporate some running. The rain held out nicely for this portion. Four exercises, starting with number 1 and adding another at each “position”/pavilion stop. PAX were delighted to learn the first exercise was keeping a common theme for the morning.
- Position 1: 10 Morning Wood (Lay flat on back. One arm extended straight to the sky. Keeping the one arm up, rise to standing potition and then return to ground.
- Position 2: 10 Morning Wood, 20 Merkins
- Position 3: 10 MW, 20 Merkins, 30 LBCs
- Position 4: 10 MW, 20 Merkins, 30 LBCs, 40 Jump ups (Q was confused and thought these were bobby hurlys, Potsie was happy to see my confusion but thank you Wo for being honest). Heart rate was a bit high after these.
One round of Farmer Boy Pullups in honor of Pork Chop. Then back to the band stand.
Tabata MARY. 20 seconds of exercise, then next PAX has 10 seconds to call out the next ab exercise. A few key ones chosen were monkey humpers, crab humpers and alabama prom dates.
