07/01/2023 - Grill - 1776, the Post of Honor, and a Moth

10 PAX posted for an Independence Day workout as well as to commemorate Woz’s 50 workout.  As a bonus, it was great to welcome back to Kotters, Apollo and Mr. Green.

The Disclaimer was given as well as instructions for handling the Post of Honor — once the workout started, it could not touch the ground on penalty of 5 Burpees by all.

Warm-a-rama: mosey to Death Valley for Arm Circles, Abe Vigoda, Imperial Walkers, Cobra, BSE, Mountain Climbers

During the warm-a-rama, Kettle Corn joined us and was introduced to a number of the PAX he hadn’t met yet.

Mosey back to the shovel flag

The Thang

1776 workout consists of 1776 reps or yards covered.  We opted to split it in half for 888 reps or yards; it takes two PAX to complete the full 1776.

Round 1

Round 2

As we completed the NUR, Mr. Green was on the verge of splashing merlot as he attempted to dispel a moth that flew down his throat.  Now how does a moth fly into your mouth during a NUR?!??  He was unsuccessful and was not too happy with the light meal he ingested.

Round 3

Good time for a break for the Q Point by Potsie on Loyalty

Round 4

50 yard Bear Crawl

During the Bear Crawl, I came across a set of keys which turned out to be Kettle Corn’s; glad we found it with our heads to the ground rather than searching later.

The grand finale of the workout was to complete 38 Burpees

We had 3 minutes remaining but since Mr. Green had to leave pronto, we opted for a photo and then COT

COT: prayers for Potsie’s 2.0’s wedding, Pork Chop’s expectant grandchild, and Teardrops father.  Thanksgiving for our nation and the freedoms we enjoy as we reflect on Independence Day.  Congratulations to Woz on completing more than 50 workouts (and the Post of Honor never touched the ground)!!

5 PAX went to Four Twelve for coffeeteria and fellowship.

God Bless America!
