Total Failure

Two PAX posted for a failure workout.  YHC was happy to see Dynamite strolling across the park to the shovel flag since it would be difficult to the planned assist pull ups solo.

Disclaimer was given and we moseyed off to the basketball court for warm-a-rama: SSH, Abe Vigoda, Grass Pickers, Side Lunges, Best Stretch Ever, Calf Stretch, Plank Jacks, Zig Zag Hops, High Knees.

The Thang

Failure — it is central to leadership development.  It makes a wonderful teacher as long as one can take the pain required to learn from it (from Q Source).  By learning from our failures we ultimately learn to live third.

Pull ups to failure

Run to the baseball dugout

Merkins to failure

Run to the band stand

Big Boy Sit ups to failure

Run to the playground

Repeat failure routine but this time with assistance to crank out more pull ups before we reached failure.

After the sit ups to failure in the band stand we did ~ 1 minute BTTW.

To break up the workout and give our aching arms, chests, and abs a break we took a comfortable run along the Schuylkill River trail — 1 mile round trip.

Back to the playground for one last round of assisted pull ups to failure.

COT: prayers for friend of Dynamite as he deals with teenage son issues; prayers for Dynamite as he moves to the Lehigh Valley.

We enjoyed some great mumble chatter throughout the workout and continued the conversation over breakfast at Four Twelve — all together it was a satisfying morning considering we started our day with failure.
