Eagles at the Grill

26-Oct-2019

Cool and sunny

It was peak foliage at the Grill.  As the sun came up it hit the trees across the river and made them glow.  It was a beautiful morning to be alive.  As is typical this time of year at the Grill, most of the PAX were sitting in tree stands instead of posting to the workout. Even the non-hunters had other obligations this morning.  Ditto realized that it may be lonely at the Grill and gave up his tree stand to run around the park with YHC.

Warm-a-rama: Mosey to end of street, Ankle, Trunk, Neck and Arm Circles, Abe Vigoda, Grass Pickers, Best Stretch Ever, Calf Stretch, Butt Kickers, High Knees, mosey back to shovel flag

The Thang:

The Cooper: 10 Merkins/ 10 Squats/ 10 Big Boy Sit ups; run lap around field; repeat by laddering down to 1 rep of each

We opted to go slower and concentrate on form since we were both nursing minor injuries.

We rounded out the workout with a few more exercises: Dips, Step Ups, Underdogs, Imperial Walkers

Mary: Dealer’s Choice — Freddie Mercury, Flutter Kicks, 6 Inches, LBCs

COT: one of the advantages of a duo workout is great mumblechatter and time to catch up with what is going on in each other’s lives.  We enjoyed a great time of encouragement and sharing. Prayers for our work and families.

As we headed to our cars Ditto’s hunter eyes caught sight of a group of deer in the woods across the river.  While we watched them, an immature bald eagle flew down the river.  A little later, a mature eagle flew up the river with the autumn foliage as the back drop.  Yep, we have a pretty awesome AO to workout.

Off to Four Twelve for some great coffee and more conversation.
